Meryl Jones (they/them) is an audiovisual artist who makes films and composes original synth-based scores. Their work is genre fluid intermingling narrative, experimental, and documentary practices. They like to mix media textures, incorporating archival materials and hand-drawn animations in their work. Their films have screened at festivals including Champs Elysees, Hamptons International, Oberhausen, Newfest, Nitehawk Shorts (Audience Award), Film Diary NYC, and online for The New Yorker Magazine, No Budge, and Dizzy TV. They co-founded Sweet Potato Productions with friend and collaborator Jane Stiles. They’re currently co-producing their debut narrative feature-length film, a queer Western entitled “M+Z” filming in rural Utah.
